Spades Tattoo Parlor

Spades began with my love for all things tattoo related. It is a tattoo only pop-up shop with a full brand experience. From renderings of the building to a website for customers. I created this tattoo shop with the goal to change the experience and aura that surrounds the community. From stigmas, misinformation, to the macho culture in the industry, Spades is dedicated to closing the gap between artist and client. Below you can find the full spades experience, I hope you fall in love it as much as I did.

Spades is the full tattoo-only experience from inside the store to a fully working website

Pop-Up Shop

Through using Adobe Illustrator, I was able to create 2d renderings of my tattoo parlor. I went with a classic brick and mortar style building with the spade shaped door as the star of the show. The black brick gives it a modern upgrade that balances the red trim.

For the interior, I kept my ode to classics alive by having a red and black tile floor that covers the shop. The front entrance has beautiful bay windows with couches that simulate the spade shape to bring it all together. Another feature on the interior is the large decal stickers of different tattoo’s I created.

Direct Mail Campaign

Another part of the Spades brand experience, is the direct mail campaign. Spades sends out promotional mailer material in order to draw customers to our seminars, flash events, and pop-up shop dates. Each piece is curated to help promote a fictional seminar event. It all comes in a not-so-average envelope with a fold out informational brochure that I hand cut. It also comes with an event details card and two flash tattoos as a keeper piece for recipients.

Website

To make Spades complete, I did a website created with Adobe XD. With a sleek and easy-to-use design, its made to be accessible to everyone. I did a desktop and mobile adaptation to cover my bases for this project. Large black and white image treatments with peeks of red and full-color images make for a cohesive design. The website has a professional look with an edge to it.
